New Belgian Rules on COVID-19

On August 20, the National Security Council and the Home Office in Brussels, Belgium issued the latest COVID-19 measures.

New Rules in Place

The following are the rules set in place by the National Security Council and Home Office:

  • Social bubble remains at a maximum of five people
  • Shopping is allowed at a maximum of two people per party instead of only shopping alone
  • Masks are obligatory in public places and shopping areas

The most significant change for the mobility industry is that the Belgian embassies are now allowed to issue single permit visas. All employees with a permit can come to work and live in Belgium, provided the borders in their current country of residence are open; however, a 14-day quarantine period must be observed.

Please reach out to your Altair Global representative for more information on this matter, including our Personal Assistance Service for quarantined customers.
