Altair Global Announces Retirement of Kathy Trachta and Jim Edwards

It is with bittersweet sentiment that today we announce the upcoming retirements of Kathy Trachta, Senior Vice President of Central Region at Altair Global, on December 15, and Jim Edwards, Senior Vice President of Global Supplier Partnerships at Altair Global, on December 31.

In their collective 15 years with Altair, both Kathy and Jim have been key drivers and had touchpoints on several facets within the organization, Kathy being accountable for creating and executing on client strategies with the Client Services team, as well as the Assignment Management and U.S. Domestic Service Delivery teams, and with Jim overseeing all aspects of Altair’s global supply chain and partnerships.

Jim Edwards: A Decade-and-a-Half of Supply Chain Excellence

Jim joined Altair’s Headquarters and Central Service Center in Plano, Texas in 2015, bringing a wealth of experience in supply chain management to Altair, having worked in the industry for almost 25 years. His comprehensive understanding of many areas of global mobility – from account management to operations to supply chain management – brought insight and the experience needed to navigate the challenges of evolving supply chain and vendor management.

“Jim has made a tremendous contribution to Altair over the years. As the leader of our supplier partnerships team, Jim has exemplified our values of being approachable, authentic, and accountable. He has built out an amazing team who work so well in partnership with our valued suppliers around the world. We will miss his leadership, expertise, and most of all his sense of humor.”

— Kathryn Cassidy, President and COO at Altair Global

Kathy Trachta: Leaving a Storied Legacy in Global Mobility

Kathy joined Altair’s Central Service Center and Global Headquarters in 2016. Having begun her relocation career in 1979, Kathy is a seasoned veteran of the global mobility industry with experience managing both U.S. domestic and international relocations and assignments for Fortune 500 companies. Complementing her professional experience, she has been an expat herself, taking on a short-term assignment in the UK.

“Having the chance to work closely with Kathy Trachta at the bookend of a 44-year career in mobility was like being enrolled in a master class in all facets of experience in the relocation space. Kathy has run large corporate client programs, did independent consulting for mobility, and held seemingly every type of client services role for multiple RMCs in a storied career that spanned six decades. Her leadership style is personable and collaborative, completely reflective of her warm personality and unique style.”

— Brian Potts, EVP, the Americas at Altair Global

Two known leaders throughout the industry, Kathy and Jim’s names can be seen throughout both Altair content and industry-related events and publications, with Jim heading up each annual Supplier Partner Awards ceremonies and the Altair Global Supplier Partner Experience (SPX) Certification program, paving the way for Altair’s supplier partners to grow and excel. Similarly, Kathy has authored articles and editorials published in Mobility Magazine and National Relocation and Real Estate. She is also a sought-after industry speaker and a contributor to regional and national relocation organizations including Worldwide ERC, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Relocation Council, and the Texas Relocation Network.

“I’d like to extend my gratitude to my Altair peers, team members, and friends for letting this last eight years be my landing pad. It is an incredible culture unmatched by many. I am beyond fortunate to have spent this time with you.”

— Kathy Trachta, SVP, Central Region at Altair Global

In retirement, Kathy is excited to have a blank canvas in this next chapter and to spend this extra time with her family. She plans to spend time in the mountains every year with her daughter, as well as travel to France with her “better half.”

“I want to extend my thanks to Kathryn Cassidy, Chad Sterling, and Jeff Douglass; we’ve put together an incredible Supplier Partnerships team at Altair during my time here, and we wouldn’t have been able to do that without their support and the vision that they saw for this organization.”

— Jim Edwards, SVP, Global Supplier Partnerships at Altair Global

Having recently moved in full-time to his Texas lake house, Jim is looking forward to this next chapter, where he plans to travel to Italy and Spain, and perhaps do some consulting on the side.

We wish Kathy and Jim the best in their next chapters and thank them both wholeheartedly for their contributions to Altair and the global mobility industry.
