Altair Global’s Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

PLANO, TEXAS (Sept. 28, 2017) – Named a 500-year storm, Hurricane Harvey devastated areas of Texas, Louisiana, Central America and the Caribbean. Altair Global felt it was of the utmost importance to support relief efforts assisting every region – and especially our neighbors directly impacted in Houston and evacuees seeking refuge in Dallas.

Altair Global team members took immediate action the following Monday (Aug. 28). Team members with large vehicles drove groups of Altair employees to a local warehouse store to purchase donations of clothes, non-perishable food and personal hygiene items for Dallas-area shelters that were established for evacuees.

Other Altair Global team members volunteered – in partnership with Simple Moving Labor (SML) and Daryl Flood Relocation & Logistics / Mayflower, who generously donated trucks and labor – to ensure Altair Global was able to gather and deliver much-needed supplies as quickly as possible.

Other employees volunteered at the drop-off site – unloading trucks, organizing donations, directing traffic and loading trucks that were en route to evacuee centers. Altair employees also made many personal contributions / donations to aid in the relief efforts and support the non-profit organization, Trusted World.

President and Chief Operating Officer, Kathryn Cassidy, said, “We were shocked to learn how many people were utterly devastated by this storm. With some of our employees, employees’ loved ones and customers living in Houston, we were determined to send help right away. It was incredibly heartwarming to see how dedicated our employees were to serving others in need – we came together to establish an action plan by 10:00 a.m. on Monday and delivered supplies by that afternoon through a wonderful display of teamwork and compassion.”

Chief Executive Officer, Chad Sterling, said, “We were heartbroken to see how much of our great state was impacted by the hurricane and the subsequent flooding. Every day, I am proud to come to work, but I was immensely and uniquely proud to see our Altair team’s sense of urgency to provide immediate help and relief. Our team members donated time, money, labor – and even opened their homes to families who left Houston. I am so proud of our company’s ability to spring into action and help others – co-workers, customers and perfect strangers alike – in times of crisis.”
