How Altair Global Empowers and Supports LGBTQIA+ Team Members

Altair Global is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community by fostering a culture of empathy, support, and inclusivity for team members and relocating employees alike. Below is a closer look into some of the ways Altair works internally to create an inclusive environment where everyone can show up as their authentic self, per our company’s core values.

Keeping a PULSE on Inclusivity

One of our Team Member Resource Groups (TMRGs), called PULSE (Pride, Unity, Love, Solidarity, and Equality), plays a vital role in promoting, celebrating, and advocating for LGBTQIA+ team members and allies within the Altair community. PULSE members meet monthly to discuss time-sensitive topics, organize fundraisers for important causes, and foster a sense of belonging and community involvement.

As a founding member and co-leader of PULSE, Steven Richardson, Global Learning & Development Manager at Altair Global, feels proud of Altair’s consistent efforts and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)—particularly as it related to the LGBTQIA+ community–saying “While many organizations go on public display and capitalize on Pride Month, Altair Global genuinely shows up day in and day out when no one is looking.”

Richardson emphasized feeling fortunate to work with a company that “is unequivocally committed to doing the right thing, encourages us to bring our authentic selves to work, facilitates positive development, and holds everyone from team members to our supplier partners accountable.”

In addition to PULSE, Altair offers seven other TMRGs that are open to all team members. These groups provide inclusion and connection, enabling u as an organization to better understand and meet the diverse needs of our fellow team members, customers, clients, and supplier partners. Showing Our Pride

On the same thread of showing up as your authentic self and celebrating a culture of belonging, Altair proudly sponsored the Alan Ross Freedom Parade at Dallas Pride in 2022. Team members were encouraged to purchase T-shirts representing the PULSE TMRG, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Dallas Pride. This event allowed our team members to showcase their pride and inclusivity within their community.

Continuing the Conversation Through Training

As part of our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace, Altair team members are required to complete annual courses designed to enhance their understanding and communication skills within a more inclusive environment. Understanding the unique needs of the LGBTQIA+ community is vital to providing meaningful support. Altair team members are equipped with the knowledge and resources to effectively support and address these needs. Through our comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training, we empower our team members with the tools to communicate in an empathetic and supportive manner. This includes fostering an understanding of pronouns and overall awareness for effectively managing LGBTQIA+ team members

Our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community extends beyond individual initiatives. We strive to foster a company-wide culture of inclusivity and diversity where every team member feels supported, respected, and valued. Our ongoing efforts to educate and train on LGBTQIA+ topics, our active engagement through TMRGs, and our sponsorship of pride events are just a few examples of our dedication to creating an inclusive work environment. We understand that true progress requires continuous learning, adaptation, and advocacy.
