Altair is committed to creating a legacy of sustainable culture and began reporting on the environment in 2013. What started as a journey of awareness about our impact became a mission. The more we learned about how we were accountable for what we do in the world, the more engaged we became in how we influenced it. The goals of our CATALYST initiative are to educate, bring awareness, and inspire action; to reduce or eliminate our environmental impacts; to engage in and give back to our local communities; to safeguard the information we’re entrusted to protect; and to follow the rules and regulations as we go. These goals are the north star for all of our ESG initiatives.

Reflecting our commitment to transparency, this report details our progress toward these goals. The work is led by our in-house ESG Committee, which includes individual sub-committees to specifically focus on environmental, social, and governance initiatives. The ESG Committee is comprised of team members across departments and time zones unified by goals of CATALYST.

ESG initiatives are a critical focus for Altair – and organizations worldwide – as we all seek to solve global challenges and drive sustainable growth. Future initiatives are likely to emphasize more technological innovation and integration. At Altair, this includes our Greener Moves for Customers initiative; a Scope 2 focus of replacing electricity in all of our global offices with renewable energy where available, and purchasing carbon offsets if there are no renewable energy options; a Scope 3 plan to develop and launch the third module of our proprietary Supplier Partner Certification with a focus on ESG; creating a Young Workers policy; adding new ESG training sessions to our internal Altair Global University platform for team members; and developing an ESG metrics dashboard using Microsoft Power BI.
