Celebrating Sustainable Housing Solutions with Habitat for Humanity
Last week, Altair Global’s Niamh Columb had the honor of attending Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity’s ribbon-cutting ceremony. This momentous occasion celebrated the opening of Hope Springs, a community project focused on providing affordable and sustainable housing solutions for local families in Greeley, Colorado.
Altair’s partnership with Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity was formed in 2022 under Altair’s Climate Positive initiative. Since inception, Altair and our Supplier Partners have raised over $27,000 for the Hope Springs project which supports the building of energy-efficient homes in local communities.
The Hope Springs ceremony was well attended and hosted by Senior Vice President of Habitat for Humanity International Adrienne Goolsby, Greeley-Weld’s Habitat for Humanity CEO Cheri Witt-Brown, Greeley’s Mayor John Gates, and many other key stakeholders. Rachel Borum, the first Hope Springs Homeowner also shared her story on the impact this project has had on her family’s lives.
“It was such a privilege to meet the families in this community and hear first-hand accounts of how their lives have transformed. The work Habitat for Humanity is doing is powerful, combining the social factor with environmental impact is inspiring.”
– Niamh Columb, Director of Supplier Partnerships at Altair Global
Following the ceremony, Zach Mannheimer, Alquist 3D Founder and Chairman provided an overview of the 3D home building market. This was followed by a tour of the 3D printing equipment which was actively being used to build the walls of the first Habitat Hope Springs home. This innovative equipment is a sustainable housing solution that will support communities with housing shortages.
Altair’s Vice President of Move Management, Patrick Keery comments “we are very grateful to all our Supplier Partners who have joined Altair on this journey. It’s phenomenal to see the impact made in the last year. Altair looks forward to the continued expansion of this program with our Supplier Partners and the team at Greeley-Weld Habitat For Humanity.”
