2026 National Volunteer Month: Altair Gives Back

This National Volunteer Month, we’re celebrating our team members’ dedication to giving back to their communities across the world and our corporate volunteer program, Altair Cares.

Our team members are living Altair Global’s values of being Approachable, Accountable, and Authentic every day. They exemplify our culture, continuing to make a positive impact beyond the workplace and further contributing to our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Altair supports these efforts through Altair Cares, our corporate volunteer program introduced companywide. Since 2023, all team members are allowed 8 hours of paid volunteer time a quarter, or 32 hours annually, to volunteer to a cause of their choosing through the program.

Breaking Down Our Volunteer Efforts

Top Volunteer Causes 2025

Whether volunteering together or individually, Altair team members are encouraged to find causes that are meaningful to them.

In 2025, our team members more than doubled their volunteer hours from the previous year, totaling 4,557 hours tracked globally, reflecting their passion for giving back and getting involved.

Team members dedicated their time to a number of different causes that we tracked internally, with the top five causes for team members in 2025 including animals, sports and recreation, children and youth, health and medicine, and community.

Volunteer Spotlights

Louise Chavis, Senior Home Sale Customer Experience Consultant | Minnetonka, MN

Louise spends her time volunteering with furry friends. Her passion for fostering animals came from the help of some Altair team members who introduced her to Ruffstart in Princeton, MN and their foster program for cats and dogs. Her involvement began a few years ago, but picked it back up this previous year with five kittens.

“In 2025, I fostered five cats back-to-back. While challenging, I love the experience of fostering these cats, building their confidence, and seeing them go to new, fantastic homes where they are cared for, loved, and given another chance.”

Andy Hawtin, Vice President of Business Development | London, UK

Andy combined his passion for soccer (or, rather football) and assisting others in his community into his own volunteer opportunity. He spends his time coaching local kids’ teams, providing them an opportunity to play and compete while supporting them through mentorship, learning teamwork, and building confidence.

Olivia Colonello, Senior Relocation Payroll and Compensation Analyst | Phoenix, AZ

“Volunteering with kids in foster care brings me a great sense of joy and fulfillment knowing that I’m able to provide them with time away from the hardships of their lives and help in allowing them to just be kids with no worries. It can definitely have its challenges, but it’s one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had.”

From helping animals to supporting local teams to dedicating time to the next generation, our team members are demonstrating Altair’s goal to creating meaningful experiences and elevating our communities.

Making a Difference Together

In Frisco, TX, home to Altair’s global headquarters, Altair sponsors various volunteer opportunities throughout the year. This includes the Texas Big Star Half Marathon and 5K benefitting Frisco Chamber Foundation, a driver for business education, workforce advancement, and advocacy for local nonprofits, and the Collin College Foundation, supporting scholarship assistance, student programs, and innovation across campuses.

Altair also hosts an annual Whoville Holiday Food Drive in partnership with Move for Hunger. Our record-breaking sixth food drive in 2025 saw the collection of 10,551 pounds of food and $10,000 in donations raised, providing 48,528 meals for those in need.

Reflecting on Our Volunteer Efforts

Our team members around the world have dedicated their time to service within and outside of Altair, truly reflecting our company culture and mission of creating positive impact and change in our communities. Through Altair Cares, we strive to encourage and support our team members’ initiatives to volunteer for causes that matter most to them. Together, these efforts represent another meaningful chapter in our ongoing commitment to showing up, getting involved, and giving back.
