“At Altair Global, the heart of our mission lies in making a difference — not only for our client partners and their relocating employees but also within our team member community. Our Experience Management (XM) philosophy centers around four pillars, each representing our core constituents, one of which is the Team Member Experience (TMX). We believe that when our team members are fulfilled, connected, and empowered, they can extend that positivity into the communities they serve and, ultimately, enhance the client partner and relocating customer experience.”

It should be mentioned that our commitment to TMX goes beyond solely providing excellent mobility services. It’s about cultivating a culture of care, collaboration, and community engagement. This commitment is evident through our ongoing focus on volunteering and social impact, aligning our efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as Zero Hunger via our ongoing partnership with Move For Hunger, and Good Health & Well-being.

In fact, falling in line with celebrating 35 years of Altair Global and looking at our next chapter in this industry, this year we introduced a volunteer hour tracker, ensuring our team members can not only find shared interests outside of their 9 to 5, but ensuring they also understand the real-world impact they’re making, one activity at a time.

Team Members Making a Difference Worldwide

From our Frisco, TX headquarters to our offices in Europe and APAC, our team members around the globe dedicate themselves to causes that matter to them, their communities, and the world. For example, Lexie Maryak, Experience Management Product Owner at Altair Global, is passionate about animal advocacy, working with a Doberman rescue organization. She explains:

“Animal advocacy has always been a passion of mine, and getting to see the recovery and success stories while helping dogs find their forever homes means the world to me. The sense of community that is fostered by working toward a common goal is so motivating. I’m thankful Altair promotes and supports volunteer efforts among team members!”

Altair’s team members also recognize that volunteering isn’t just about giving back — it simultaneously builds civic engagement, social inclusion, and solidarity. Whether it’s working as a first aid responder during the recent Summer Olympics or assisting homeless communities in Paris, Clotilde de Coudenhove, one of our Destination Services Consultants out of our Paris, France office, emphasizes the importance of feeling helpful and being part of something bigger:

“I volunteer at the Protection Civile because I like to help people. The most important things I do are being a first aid responder during events, like I did during the Olympics and the Paralympics in Paris. I also do social work, visiting homeless people in the street to chat with them and give them some food. I like feeling helpful. I also meet incredible people.”

In total, these initiatives and hours spent volunteering go well beyond the walls of our offices, reinforcing Altair’s role as a global force for good within our communities.

Volunteer Initiatives Aligned with ESG and Shared Values

In alignment with our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, our volunteer efforts reflect a company-wide commitment to meaningful change and corporate responsibility. You can find more information on our approach and our plans for the future in our 2024 ESG Report.

And we are aware that the enthusiasm for civil leadership and volunteerism often starts from the top down. In 2020, Kathryn Cassidy, President and COO of Altair Global, was appointed to the Goodwill Industries of Dallas Board of Directors, and continues to serve on the board, most recently serving as Lunch Chair for their annual luncheon benefit, further illustrating our company’s deep roots in community engagement. For us, volunteering isn’t simply a KPI; it’s a core part of who we are. Our volunteer hour tracker not only helps quantify our efforts but shows how our team members’ contributions support broader causes, from hunger relief to gender equality.

Why We Added 8 Paid Hours of Volunteering Per Quarter

Understanding that time is one of the most valuable resources, we recently introduced a policy offering every team member 8 paid hours per quarter to volunteer. This initiative was designed with our Millennial and Gen Z workforce in mind, supporting both the mental health and wellbeing of our organization while embracing a new age of our team member base and culture.

Studies have shown that volunteering can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and promote overall wellbeing. Karenline Cruz-Santiago, one of our Global Customer Experience Consultants out of our Frisco, TX headquarters, highlights how these opportunities go beyond just contributing to a cause. For her, it’s also a spiritual journey:

“Volunteering and serving my community are tangible expressions of embodying Jesus Christ’s heart and his call to love others. Our collective efforts drive substantial change and forge deeper connections with one another. Our united commitment transforms not only the lives we touch but also strengthens our bonds as a community.”

Volunteering as a group also enables team members to build relationships, increase communication, and work on essential soft skills. These connections don’t just strengthen our internal culture; they allow us to offer more meaningful experiences to the client partners we serve globally. We recently shared a deeper look into how we build these partnerships worldwide with our client partners, showing even more how all of these experiences inter-connect for a common goal.

Looking Forward: Altair Global TMX, SDGs, and Future Impact

As we continue to evolve our XM program, TMX will remain a vital pillar. Our ability to track volunteer hours and map them to SDGs shows us that these efforts aren’t just making a difference in our team members’ lives; they are impacting the world. We aim to refine our approach further to deepen our impact and reach while continuing to allow our team members an environment to be connected, inspired, and empowered—which in turn provides them the potential for meaningful change.

Altair Global is proud to champion social responsibility, foster connections between our team members, and show up as good stewards in the communities we serve. By supporting and empowering our team members, we’re not only contributing to their well-being, but we’re also ensuring that the positive ripple effects of their work extend to our clients, customers, and the world at large. We look forward to continuing our journey of social impact and team member engagement, utilizing data to transform every effort—no matter how small or large—into impact for something greater.
