Altair Global Becomes First Relocation Management Company to Sign Official EU AI Pact

The leading talent mobility management provider joins more than 100 companies as a first signatory of the pact, pledging to advance trustworthy and secure AI development.

Joining multinational corporations and European small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from various sectors, Altair Global signed the EU artificial intelligence (AI) Pact on March 31, becoming the first relocation management company (RMC) to do so. This voluntary agreement reflects a proactive commitment to begin applying the principles of the AI Act before its formal implementation.

At its core, signing the EU AI Pact means that Altair commits to three key areas of focus:

  • Developing an AI governance strategy to foster the adoption of AI within our organization and work toward future compliance with the AI Act
  • High-risk AI systems mapping to identify tools likely to be categorized as high-risk under the legislation
  • Promoting AI literacy and awareness among our team members to ensure the responsible and ethical development of AI

Altair’s AI Leadership in Global Mobility

Altair has been on an innovative journey in the AI space, having launched our own AI-powered virtual assistant, Ali, in March 2024. Available 24/7 through the STAR Customer Portal, Ali was designed to support relocating customers by providing instant, accurate answers to basic questions about their specific relocation policies and benefits.

Ali’s impact was immediate—within her first three months, she answered a whopping 3,370 questions from customers around the globe.

But Ali is only one aspect of Altair’s broader focus on artificial intelligence in global mobility. Our company has been actively exploring how AI can streamline the relocation experience, from predictive analytics to client support enhancements. In early 2024, two of Altair’s experts contributed insights on AI’s potential applications, opportunities, and challenges in the talent mobility space.

AI Ethics and Accountability: A Core Value at Altair

Signing the EU AI Pact marks a significant milestone in Altair’s commitment to responsible and ethical AI development. Jason Beaudreau, Chief Technology Officer at Altair Global, emphasized the importance of aligning innovation with our organization’s core value of remaining accountable.

“Trust goes hand in hand with the services we offer our client partners and relocating customers. For this reason, Altair is proud to be an inaugural participant in the EU AI Pact. We believe that the principles and responsibilities outlined in the pact are very much in line with practices that build trust.”

Jason Beaudreau, Chief Technology Officer at Altair Global
