Exploring the Opportunity of AI in Corporate Relocation

In today’s fast-paced corporate landscape, the integration of cutting-edge technology like artificial intelligence (AI) has become increasingly essential for streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency across industries—including mobility. At Altair Global, we’re at the forefront of leveraging AI to enhance various aspects of talent relocation, ensuring a seamless experience for both our client partners and customers.

The term “AI” has increasingly become a hot topic in media and everyday conversation. With the acronym already listed in Webster’s Dictionary, it might be a safe time to hedge bets as to when it becomes a household name like Google.

It may seem like we’re in the early stages of adopting AI in the relocation industry, but the truth is, AI has already been involved in this space—though perhaps not being referred to directly by this name.

How AI Can Fit in Corporate Relocation

In a January 2024 article in Mobility Magazine titled “AI’s Role in Transforming Global Talent Relocation,” Altair’s Chief Technology Officer, Jason Beaudreau, and Senior Vice President of Global Financial Services, Susan Myers, shed light on how Altair has been utilizing AI and machine learning in various ways. Susan emphasized that while AI plays a crucial role in processing supplier invoices and expense reimbursements, it hasn’t replaced the human touch. Instead, it allows our team members to focus on more intricate tasks such as coding for taxability and client-specific contract requirements.

The article also highlights that while AI adoption in the talent relocation industry is still in its early stages, there are already promising examples of AI-driven tools being used for expense management, virtual assistants, and destination content delivery. Susan noted that several technology companies have introduced solutions leveraging automation tools for expense management and virtual assistants. Additionally, destination service providers are beginning to harness AI for delivering destination content effectively. AI has also been integrated into reporting analytics to project costs through various estimating tools, and provide quick data analysis.
